Mera peak is in Nepal's Sagarmatha Zone, Solukhumbu District. At 6,476 meters (21,247 ft) it is classified as a trekking peak. Mera is the famous trekking peak in Nepal, which is not a technical climb. The first ascent of Mera Central was on May 20, 1953, by Col. Jimmy Roberts and Sen Tenzing. Asian Hiking Team recommend Mera base camp trekking itinerary drive from Kathmandu to Salleri/Phaplu then start trekking through the PanchPokhari route to Khare Camp. A one day explore upper Khare or in base camp/high camp of Mera. After visiting Mera base camp, we recommend returning through Zetrala pass to Lukla than flight to Kathmandu.

Day 01: Kathmandu to Sallery (2390m) - Kathmandu early morning drive to Sallery (265km) 10–12 hours by Jeep, overnight at Hotel/Guest House (B/L/D).

Day 02: Trekking Sallery to Nunthala (2194) – 6–7 hours trekking up and down to Nunthala, overnight at Hotel/Guest House (B/L/D).

Day 03: Trekking Nunthala to Kharikhola (2100m) – 5–6 hours trek to Bupsa, overnight at Hotel/Guest House (B/L/D).

Day 04: Trekking across the river and over a ridge to Panggoma (2,846m), overnight at guest house (B/L/D).

Day 05: Trekking a monastery, lush forests and Mera peak views as you trek over the Panggoma La pass to Nashing Dingma (2,600m), overngiht at Lodge (B/L/D).

Day 06: Trekking a steep climb over the Surke La pass and forest camping at ChalemKharka (3,600m), overnight at Lodge (B/L/D).

Day 07: Trekking Chalemkharka to KholaKharka (4,200m), overnight at Lodge (B/L/D).

Day 08: Rest day in Kholakharka, (B/L/D)

Day 09: Trekking to descent into the Hinku Valley and Kothe (3,550 m), 5-6 hours(B/L/D).

Day 10: Trekking to Tangnag (4,360 m), overnight at guest house (B/L/D).

Day 11: Trekking to Khare (5,100 m), overnight at guest house (B/L/D).

Day 12: Khare rest day, relax and rest (B/L/D).

Day 13: Khare to Mera Base Camp, return to Khote or you can explore on yesterday rest day as well, overnight lodge (B/L/D).

Day 14: Kothe to Zatra La (chetra-La), overnight Lodge, 5–6 hours (B/L/D).

Day 15: Zatra La (chetra-La) to Lukla 6–7 hours, overnight Lodge (B/L/D).

Day 16: Lukla to Kathmandu by flight, then transfer to Hotel (BB).
