For those who seek the ultimate panoramic Himalayan view, Nagarkot, Daman and Bandipur are the places to visit. Nagarkot is a popular tourist resort of Nepal. It is situated 32 Kilometers east of Kathmandu at an altitude of, 2175 m. The panorama of the major peaks of eastern Nepal Himalayas, including Mt. Everest. Himalayan peaks like Manaslu (8463 m) Ganesh Himal (7111 m) Langtang (7246 m) Gaurishanker (7134 m) clearly seen from Nagarkot. A motor-able road links Nagarkot through Bhaktapur.
Daman (2400) is approx 80 km southwest of the Kathmandu valley offers the only unimpeded view of the entire Himalayan ranges, roughly 400 km of Himalayan panorama. Daman is located on the Tribhuvan Highway between Kathmandu and Hetauda. A walk around the surrounding area or a lounging on one of the resorts here are just a different experience in itself.
Bandipur is a hilltop settlement in Tanahu District of Nepal. Bandipur was established as a funneling point of trade by Newar traders from Bhaktapur in the Kathmandu valley after it had been conquered in 1768 by Prithvi Narayan Shah. They took advantage of its malaria free location to develop it into an important stop along the India-Tibet trade route. With them, they brought their cultural heritage and architecture, which basically has remained unchanged to this day. Bandipur is located at 143 km to the west of Kathmandu and 80 km to the east of Pokhara and an elevation of 1030 m on a mountain saddle (Mahabharat range) approximately 700 m above the Marsyangdi River Valley.
