Larkya Peak (6416m) or call Larke is inside Manaslu conservation area which is less common to western tourists. Larkya Peak (6,416m) lies on the ridge north of Manaslu. Larkye is visible from the northeast along the classic Manaslu Circuit trek. Larkya (Larke) peak is a bit tricky, but is not so difficult to climb technically. Along the route there are settlements offering the opportunity to discover the sites and natives with different culture, ancient monasteries, prayer flags and wheels dotted along are always a familiar sight throughout the trek. The route to the majestic Larkya peak leads through Gorkha in the northwest.
The seasonable road goes to Aarukhat- Aarkhet continues to Machhekhola. Trekking path goes through the Jagat, Ghap, Lho, Samagau, Samdo than Larkye base camp. There are Guest houses /Lodge until Dharmasala. You need to sleep and eat at least two nights in Base camp by tented camp. Many climbers start climbing from Base camp, however you can make camp in High camp. Top of Larke peak inspiring view of Kang Guru (6981m), Annapurna II (7937 m), Himlung Himal (7126m) is at its best.
Asian hiking Team organizes Larkya peak climbing starting trekking from Machhekhola to Larke Phedi or call Dharamsala and heading to High camp and summit to Larkya Peak. After summit Larke peak, trekking crossing of Larke pass continues trek to Dharapani and drive to Besisahar continues to Kathmandu. It is also possible returning trekking in the same way to Machekhola. Asian Hiking Team mention the itinerary crossing the Larke Pass end trek in Dharapani then drive to Kathmandu.
Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu, transfer to hotel, overnight at Hotel (B).
Day 02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu and preparation day for climbing permits and equipment, overnight at hotel (BB).
Day 03: Kathmandu to Arughat Bazar continues to Soti Khola to Machhekhola by bus/jeep 9-12 hours, overnight at Lodge (B/L/D).
Trekking Start
Day 04: MachheKhola to Jagat (1340m), 5–6 hours, overnight Lodge /Tea house (B/L/D).
Day 05: Jagat to Deng (1860m), 5–6 hours, overnight Lodge /Tea house (B/L/D).
Day 06: Deng to Namrung (2630m), 5–6 hours 2300 m, overnight hotel (B/L/D).
Day 07: Namrung to Lho (3180m), 4–6 hours, overnight hotel (B/L/D).
Day 08: Lho to Samagaou (3520m), 4-5 hours, overnight hotel (B/L/D).
Day 09: Acclimatization rest day in Samagaou, Overnight Lodge /guest house (B/L/D).
Day 10: Trek from Samagaon to Samdo (38750m), 4–5 hours, takes about four hours, Overnight Lodge /Tea house (B/L/D).
Day 11: Trek from Samdo to Larkya La Phedi (4460m) 4–5 hours, overnight Lodge /guest house (B/L/D).
Climbing Start
Day 12: Dharamsala to Larkya High Camp 5,650m, 2–3 hours, overnight at Camping (B/L/D).
Day 13: Summit day for Larkya Peak, return to Base camp 10–15 hours, Overnight tented camping (B/L/D).
Day 14: Spare Day for climbing, if in case of weather or sickness or any cases (B/L/D).
Climbing End
Day 15: Larkya Glacier/Larkya base camp to Bhimtang (3800m, 8h), overnight at Lodge (B/L/D).
Day 16: Bhimtang to Tilije (2300m, 7h), overnight at Lodge (B/L/D).
Day 17: Tilije to Besisahar by Jeep 4-6 hours and drive to Kathmandu 4–5 hours or Pokhara 3–4 hours drive by tourist bus, transfer to hotel (B/L).
Day 18: Departure to Airport as your own schedule (B).
