Api Himal 7132m is the highest mountain in western part of Nepal in Guras Himal. Api Himal Climbing is included as one of the untouched and remote mountains.
The first ascent of Api occurred in 1960. The Doshisha Alpine Society of Japan successfully completed the Northwest Face route attempted by the 1954 party. In 1980 a British Army Mountaineering Association expedition made an attempt to climb the peak by the south face, reaching within a few hundred meters of the summit. On 24 December 1983 Polish climbers Tadeusz Piotrowski and Andrzej Bielu? made the first winter ascent.
The API Himal expedition is remote but you will catch picturesque mountain views of Nandadevi, Raj ramba, Api Himal, Kappa chili Peak and many more.
We start our trek from Gokuleshwor on a less-visited trail that leads, passing through remote villages. Largely unexplored serene wilderness, passing through Ghana, Lathinath village, Ghusa, batar, Jungle camp then base camp. Once at the base camp, our expedition Sherpa crews will make necessary preparations for setting up higher camps above base camp. There are three higher camps. We will push the summit from Camp 2.
The actual ending date is flexible, depending on weather and conditions. Our itinerary has a number of contingency days built into the itinerary, but normally climbers will change their international departure flights when they know exactly when the expedition is going to end. Asian Hiking Team recommends adding several days to this itinerary below in case we must wait for weather or conditions.
