Saribung Pass trekking

Saribung pass is situated to the north of Mustang region of Damodar Himal, the last frontiers close to the border of Tibet (China). That is a high pass between two famous rusticated trekking areas, Upper Mustang and Nar-Phu valley. Saribung Pass (6042m) trekking is one of the challenging, physically demanding trekking passes in Nepal.

The Saribung trek is great diversity in scenery, beautiful landscapes, cultures, interaction with locals, religion and geographical variations. Hence, trekkers can enjoy the fantastic and picturesque views of diversity in this region. Saribung is one of the highest mountain passes in Nepal which offers a spectacular view of the Annapurna range and Dhaulagiri massifs along with a close-up view of different Himalayan ranges of Mustang region and Nar Phu valley. The highlight of Saribung trekking is cultural diversity of the upper Mustang valley, beautiful expedition Saribung Himal 6328 m climbing, picturesque valley of Nar and Phu trekking. The Saribung Pass Trekking trails are rugged, cutting high into cliff sides, passing through small Buddhist villages, olden culture united in a unique interpretation of lands forgotten by time.

We cross numerous high passes including the De Hults Pass (6225m) and emerge to the Annapurna region. In order to allow for as much acclimatization as possible before crossing the 6000m foot Saribung La Pass. For the Saribung peak 6328m climbing, it is easy to climb, but there are many passes with ice, rock and creases in between the Damodar Kunda region and Nar-Phu valley.

Asian Hiking Team organize our trekking in a clockwise direction beginning from Jomsom and follow Upper Mustang trail “the culturally-rich Buddhist region of Upper Mustang” and descend through the remote Nar Phu Valley before joining the Annapurna Circuit trail trek and end at BesiSahar. It is possible to organize anti-clockwise, for which the trek starts from Phu and then ascends to Saribung pass and enters the Mustang "Hidden Kingdom" and returns to Jomsom.
